Check-out policy
All students may check out books for up to two weeks.
- Kindergarten students may check out one book.
- 1st grade students may check-out one book before winter break, and two books starting in January.
- 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders may check out two books.
Overdue and Lost Book Policy
- Overdue notices are sent out every two weeks.
- Students with an overdue book will not be allowed to check out books.
- Teachers are asked to encourage students to return books on time.
- Students will receive their first overdue notice (overdue 1 - 5 days) on white paper. The second overdue notice (overdue 6 - 29 days) will be on teal paper.
- If a student has an overdue book for more than 30 days, the book is automatically marked as “lost” and the parents will be sent an email, a yellow notice in their child's Friday Folder, or a notice in the mail requesting their assistance in locating the book.
- Students who lose or damage a book beyond repair will be asked to pay a fine of $15 for a hardback and $5 for a paperback. A refund will be issued if the lost book is found within 60 days.
